Default Got a 6.5 that wants to thrive...

Hi all, I wanted a heavy duty truck with a diesel, found a 94 GMC K2500. Ignorant for the most part when it comes to diesels, i figgered this would be a good start. Kinda rough for $1700. but gotta start somewhere. Had the typical, hey who shut off the key event early on, but like some of the threads said, common PMD problem. A one time deal at that time. So in the mean time I put in a new tank, pickup, and pump, and more recently had to replace the crossover pipe on the exhaust.
I do like the power these things put out and there is nothing like the smell of diesel in the morning ;-)
Had more issues with surging so I now have the pmd relocated behind the bumper with a home made harness, took care of problems for a while.....
I hope to improve the exhaust since it stops just beyond the cab, rust is a major player here, the dude before me plowed and used this truck with a sanding box.
Oh yeah, i have a new windshield, :-)
I have another truck, an F150 that we recently dropped in a 302 HO, I have a "bow-tie" in place of the ford emblem, and call this truck my "wanna-b".... Cause it wants to be a chevy when it grows up.... Ha Ha.
The GMC is parked for now as it needs some attention, so I hope to benefit from this community for ways to make it better, I understand why one thread made the statement "If you are a 6.5 owner and dont have grease under your finger nails you aren't working on it". I guess its time for me to get busy.....

I suggest a boost fooler and a turbo upgrade...

a HX35 off a 5.9 cummins should do wonders if you want more power without blowing your crank out...
