I have never owned a diesel in my life and was recently allowed to use a 2001 Ford F350 pick up. My father taught me a lot about trucks growing up, but we rarely if ever had a diesel. I think I was 6yo if I remember correctly, the last time we had one.

So, I have now gone from driving a 1990 GMC Jimmy, to this beast that I have to stand on a bucket to even get close to the engine.

I dont have any interest working on it myself but would like to seriously educate myself on how it works, as this vehicles previous owner has done little to know maintenance on it and it, more often then not, doesn't even start, let alone run smoothly.

I wont ever use the excuse that "im just a girl" other than to be funny.

Please be kind as to how under educated I am about this truck and be very basic with the technical stuff until I get the hang of it.

It will be going to the mechanic, but I would prefer not to walking in there with a giant target on me.
