my 6.0 turbo has a rough idle at times, loss of power with white smoke at times. it only does the loss of power with white smoke maybe once a day, and the rough idle a few times a day. i have changed fuel filters, pulled and cleaned water/fuel separator, cleaned the EGR valve, oil change... going to do a radiator flush today...

Here, try this. Go up to the red "Search Box" type your symptoms, and you should get all kinds of info. Also you can try the FORD search button, under the NADM logo. All kinds of info as well.
Your truck has a VGT turbo (Variable Geometry Turbo). It has directional moveable vanes, in the exhaust turbine housing, that controlls boost levels. There is no wastegate on these turbos. These vanes are notorious for getting carboned up, sticking, or just plain seizing up. Usually removing the turbo and giving it a good cleaning will take care of the issue. Grandma driving and long extended ideling will usually cause this. Im assuming this is the first time?
