Been into diesels for a while, but into diesels that most wouldn't know, like the 4d56, 1KZ, ZD30, 4m41, etc. Never had a chance to pick one up though, as the buy in is much higher, and no simple way to sell the car. I'm leaving for the states in about half a year, and I am looking at 2.5 diesel vehicles.

1. VW TDI (VE in mk4 from 199-2003)
2. Jeep Liberty CRD (still reading)
2.5. A small truck/SUV diesel swap (2C in a RAV4, TDI jeep/ranger/tacoma etc)

There are a few gassers on the list, but those don't matter. Just looking for a decent DD that gets at least 30 MPG on the highway. Power would be nice, but looking at the Liberty it seems that the tranny is an issue, and everything(tune, turbo, nozzles, pancake pipe, etc) is an issue on the TDI.

you wont get 30 MPG in the Liberty but volkswagens are good chioce for a DD some one here most likely knows about those diesels but were mostly about Pickups and big rigs( at least I think). but glad to have ya. Dont let issues worry you just find out how to fix a prevent those issue thats why we all are here because great trucks are built not bought.

I have been reading about the big rigs too. Learning about diesels is a hobby. Also learning about their turbos for installation on gassers Been trying to find info about a manual swap on the Liberty.

No worries on that, I will probably spend the rest of the day searching water injection on the site. It's my big hobby. Been active on most of the diesel forums learning about it and it's affect on diesel, as I have a gasser background in it.

Konbanwa Dust!

Spent 3 good years over in Japan. Don't think I would want to go back, but it was cool at the time.

Depending on what happens in November, I may regret going back stateside. Laws are getting a little nicer for the foreigners here. If only they would allow us some guns.
