Default Vermeer Trencher

We've got a vermeer trencher at work with a 4bt. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of pump it has. It is a mechanical rotary pump. I think it is a 97 model. Any takers???

any kind of picture you could get us. If it's a mechanical Rotary then it's a ve pump I'm pretty sure.

Well I was thinking VE too. But I thought a VE was for 6 cylinder motors? It's been a long time since I've had a look at a VE.

They were the same deal as a P7100. They come in four cylinder versions. Heck I think the ve actually came in five cylinder versions for mercedes benzs.

Yeah it is a VE. We are having trouble with it and I was just wondering. No trouble with the pump just sensors. It is a very basic VE. It's miising some stuff the trucks would have.

Yea it's full fuel, no afc on top to limit off boost fueling. What's going on with it though? It shouldn't have to awful many seniors.

3200 gov spring, 14mm head, and a custom fuel pin would do the pump wonders on that trencher.....

It died at full throttle Wed. after running all day long. But this problem has nothing to do with the pump or fuel delivery at all. Checked all the fluids everything checked out. Batteries are fine. Some kind of sensor is killing it. Won't even allow the starter to turn the motor. If it does turn over and fire it imediately dies. But we used it today, just left the key off, jumped the starter and off we went till lunch. After we broke for lunch and came back, she cranked right off and ran till we shut her off. There are no loose connections as far as batteries and ignition etc. This sensor kills all electric power though. And you can hear it clicking on the motor, but haven't gotten it narrowsed down yet. It is one of the ones close to the starter. Just can't tell which contactor is opening and closing. But really haven't dove into it yet either. I'm pretty good with electricity but I could care less about doing it when we can just call out the Vermeer tech.
