I just installed a B&W gooseneck hitch last night and I dont have helper springs. I would like my truck to sit level with a load and I am leaning towards airbags.

What are the pros and cons of each. As of right now I dont have either. I know I can get a set fo bags for arounud $200.00 and have some adjustability. I havnt looked in springs bit I dont see them being much cheaper.

Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't dealt w/Timbrens. I like Air Bags over helper springs due to the adjustability. Your ride does not have to suffer when empty w/the bags. Depending on how you plumb them, you could also have side to side adjustabilty if you have an offset load.

 

YES.........now you see why I highly recommend them,,,,,they sure help support yer load

 

The timbrens look like a good product. I going to do a little looking around and see where the best place would be to get a set.

Air bags require much more maintenance and typically only carry a 2 yr warranty. Their is also much more effort on the installation and attention when using them. Pro is that they usually carry around 5000 lbs. of load support and you can adjust them to exactly what you need. Firestone is a 2 ply bag with a 2 yr warranty. Air Lift is a 2 ply also but with lifetime warranty. And Hellwig has a 4 ply bag with 2 yr warranty, but like is said, 4 ply.

Helper springs whether be Timbren or Hellwig require no maintenance or adjustment. Simple bolt on installation and both have lifetime warranties. Timbren will usually hold a few thousand pounds more than the Hellwig, but a Timbren can give you short stops when bouncing with unloaded vehicle on a bumpy road.
