Default EGT?

Got a question about my EGT's on my 02 LB7. Truck was recently EFI Live tuned and now with it on hot mode, its nothing to have the EGT's hit 1500 pre-turbo. Is this something i should REALLY worry about? If so what are my best options for getting lower EGTs? I know its a pretty dumb newb question, but I dont wanna spend money one something I don't need, but on the same hand, if i need, i will spend the coin. Someone please point me in the right direction.

Try an Intake sytem and a less restrictive exhuast. If you have disreguard post. bring you tune down a couple of notches. till your ready for a header upgrade. If the EGTs persist go for a water injection kit. or turbo upgrade. allot has to do with flow charicteristics. find the blockage that is holding in heat or slowing down air movement into/out of the power plant.

I have 5 inch MBRP exhaust, and a cold air intake. Pretty much anything short of turbo upgrades, its not a problem, i will get it. would after market intercooler tubes help with this at all?

and something i should have added to my original post, this isnt problem jsut driving regular. its on the WOT runs that it gets there.

do you have the stock headers? those logs are real restrictive. And if it's at WOT then hiting it with water should help. Snow and Labonty are real popular around hear. definetly look into a turbo. Hows your transmission holding up?

Still have the stock header.Havent seen anywhere to buy a aftermarket header...

Tranny is good. Got a suncoast kit on her. might be looking into a valve body before too long tho.

Aight, so you think the water meth kit would be best bang for the buck to get my EGTs down?

Good to here the tranny is working out

also call jason murff at murff racing he has some of the best headers for those suckers
heres his site Murff Racing - Your Diesel Parts and Racing Leaders!

W/M kits are nice but to get a good kit you looking at 500-800 bucks and even then they will only cool usually 200*-350* unless you go a 2 stage progressive dual pump

Hey Bryce, the trans is working out pretty good so far. May look into doing a valve body in the near future. I am getting my fam to send you the converter back. I think I owe some for it taking so long.

I am not even sure its a BIG issue, the probe is pre turbo and on th 500 tune, wot runs it will hit 1500 easily. Just not comfortable with it doing it so easily. So I am jsut looking to get them to drop without breaking my bank account too bad.

Sweet man glad shes working out!

And you don't owe me nothing for the converter I know its hard to have things go right 100% of the time

You can do a WM kit I have a few options to choose from I can still give ya the group buy price on the labonte systems if you want to go that route?
is a turbo upgrade out?

Before you go drop a ton of money into trying to fix the EGT problem. Check the probe for any soot build up. I had that problem on my 05. I have a guy that builds headers for Dmitri Millard and his 1800HP 02 Dmax. Water/Meth is only masking the lack of airflow. A bigger turbo or twins will be a more permanent solution.
