GM and Virginia Tech Create Advanced Tire Test Facility
BLACKSBURG, Virginia (August 10, 2010) — Better fuel economy and lower emissions are two reasons why General Motors Co. is investing $5 million to help create the National Tire Research Center at Virginia Tech Transportation Institute.
The facility is the result of a long partnership between VTTI and GM. Other funding for the $14 million center is coming from Virginia Tech and the national tobacco settlement.
