Is there a common rattle on the classic body style in the dash? I have this rattle that has been around since 10,000 miles, took it to the dealer at 36,000 for warranty and they didn't find it. They claimed to have removed the dash three times but still no luck. They have replaced the intermediate shaft twice. The rattle sounds like it is coming from around the steering column and is much worse when the truck is cold but still there when it's warm. I have pulled the gauge cluster out and driven around feeling for anything loose but I can't find it. It's driving me crazy and I have to keep this truck at least until summer but would like to keep my sanity until then.

 

I recently had a rattle in the dash. Changing the intermediate shaft did not stop the rattle. I carried the truck back, they changed the shaft bearing/bushing to the new style and that took care of the rattle. Hope this helps.
