Do they use predominantly more GM trucks than Fords or Dodges? Or do they have some of each over there?
I'm curious to see what that kind of abuse would diminish the trucks to over time, see which one stands up where.

F250's stand up a thousand times better........

WELL MY DAY ENDED WELL YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!

So LVM got the truck "fixed" yesterday about 1100, except for the CV axle, they didnt have one, so now the truck dont have 4 wheel drive, about 1745 i hear what sounds like either a light scrapping or air leak coming from the front tire for about 5-6 seconds then a hard jerk to the right, the unitized hub bearing completely fails and I have to limp it back to the fuel yard......I am not pleased......This is the same side that just got fixed.......

This is the original failed spindle.......This is the junk CV axle......

This is what happens when you dont put the end of the CV shaft in the hub bearing and bolt it down......It divides by zero and eats itself......

This is part of the failed bearing that I found laying on the road where the bearing decided to divide by zero and implode into itself.........

Fire your mechanics! They should have known not to run it w/o a cv axle!

What he said.

But I think the OP is a fleet wrench over there.

Should have ripped the other end off the CV shaft and left it in the wheel bearing to maintain proper preload.

I'm a DS Battle Vehicle and GFE equipment mechanic......I know they need to put the end of the CV in it......If I touch the truck I lose my job, so I will continue to tearing up wheel bearings until they get smart enough to fix it right, I told them to put the end of the shaft in it......
