a friend at school wants to know what would be a good programmer for an 06 chevy d-max any suggestions?

PPE.. or EFI live.. but EFI live can be challenging to use at times. And there are no limits to how much power EFI can give a duramax.. only the limits of the motor itself.

PPE on the other hand has some very good written tunes. An LBZ Duramax, with transgo Jr. Shift kit and a PPE standard on LVL 4 can put down well over 400 RWHP.. with the stock airbox and a 4" exhaust.

Just remember, Gauges are ALWAYS a MUST HAVE when adding power to any diesel. For a Duramax, I recommend a 35 psi boost and 1600+ EGT gauge.

if he just want something that can tune right away with out tinkering with anything and thats easy get PPE
