Went to the store today, It is snowing hard and about 4 deg outside.
I finish at wally world and load the sacks into the truck no problem but when I get home the tailgate wont open. WTF
I had to peal back the tonnaue to get the groceries out then spend about 10 minutes getting it back on.(for those of you in the warmer areas it is almost impossible to get the cover back on in the cold)
Well first thought is its frozen but no dice.
The latch still has tension like normal but the tailgate wont budge. What gives?
Anyone else have or had this problem?

 

have a truck at work where the handle busted right off
just the wires to open it
I have to push the tailgate in to open passenger side then open left side of tailgate

 

Maybe the cable(tailgate straps) is twisted and jamming the door shut... You can pop the handle cover off. Try pushing up and pulling out on the bottom of the cover you may have to pry on it. Take it easy though there are tabs that can break that hold it in. Then you can kind of see what going on.
