i have a 03 chevy dmax and today for the first time me and a friend were driving down the road and he said mash it so he could here how it sounded with the exhaust. i put the peddle to the floor and the rpms jumped to 3500 downshifted then didnt shift again till i lifted. any ideas why it would not shift when its suposed to i bought it used with 72000 on it. is the trans slippin that bad? or somethin else

Well if I understand what happened right i would first start with the fuel filter. I dont see a programmer of any kind in your sig so i would doubt its slipping.

Then i would try changing your fuel filter. before i changed mine a while back it would wrap up to 3300 in 4th and not shift until i let out. Trans tables are based of throttle position, speed, and rpm so if your not meeting the speed for that throttle position its not going to shift.

trans filter takes maybe 2 minutes to change, just finding a cheap trans filter is hard
