Default Stacks Or No Stacks?

So lets hear what you guys think. I found this guy who will build me these stacks that look awesome in my opinion. He calls them caterpillar stacks or somethin. They would be powdercoated black and id have 5" underneath with probably 6" stacks.. I have an 06 lbz. How do you think it would sound? Look? And mainly i need to know if its worth it or is it just btter to go with a 5" side exit and gauges. Thanks. James

IMO you cant go wrong either way.. but side exit will keep the side of your truck black I would imagine.. I think Side exits look cool, because they are rare though. I think Stacks are wicked.. Im not a fan myself of the bullhorns or Aussies, i like the Flat top and Mitre Cuts personally. Its all in how you want your truck to look.

For Sound, from what DangerousDuramax told me, when u mount them keep the lower lip of the opening above the top of your cab so it will reduce cab drone. I think there are few things that sound better than stacks.

If it makes any difference, right now im running a 4" MBRP Straight, and Im fixing to do a single Mitre cut 6" stack thru my bed. One reason is because its VERY rare for where I live, and another reason would be because I dont wanna tick off the Tree man at the local drag strip. Blowin smoke at them every pass gets old Im sure.

Alright thanks for the advice, ill try to get some pics up to show what they would look like. Oh and when i say side exit i dont mean like before the rear wheel i just mean like the regular exhaust place.

This is my attempt at posting photos hope it works. If you can see them tell me your opinions. Mines not the new body style just FYI. And they will be powdercoated.

And I can see why he called them the "Caterpillar" stacks, they remind me of the style they run on the larger Cat loaders.....
