All New 4.5L Duramax V8 Diesel
This is exciting news folks—and arguably some of the most important engine news to come out of GM in years. GM will introduce an all-new 4.5L V8 diesel for the 2010 model year for their light-duty full-size trucks and for the Hummer H2.
Here are some key points:
• This is a 100% in-house GM design, and not engineered by Isuzu.
• The turbocharged engine is a DOHC unit with 4-valves per cylinder... • It's expected to be rated in excess of 310 hp and 520 pound-feet of torque.
• It will meet the stringent 2010 emissions standards, and it will be compliant in all 50 states, making it one of the cleanest diesel vehicles ever produced.
• This engine should be able to fit in the engine bays of any GM product currently using small-block V8s—which could mean some very interesting further vehicle/model applications.
I bet that was thought up by a redneck..hmm... more power, less weight......
more power...
less weight...

more FASTER!
I bet I know what the wife is gettin when the 2010 models come out..
I hope they put a strong tranny, and something stronger than a 10 bolt behind it.
