Question Painting OnStar/XM Antennas

Has anyone painted their OnStar/XM Antennas?

I've been thinking about doing this to color match them to the truck. I'm wondering if it will screw with their reception.

Whacha think?

Nobody has tried this, eh?

Looks like I might have to be a pioneer.

Or guinea pig.

But I like lead paint. The chips make good snacks.

i dont think it should hurt them, i had like a foot of snow on top of my sirius antenna and it worked fine, i dont think a little paint will hurt them, on another note paint chips are yummy

Had not thought of painting them. Color matched would hide those black warts.

i know on my aftermarket AX antenna if i put my hand over it i'll lose reception. so as long as you don't put 3/4 to 1" of material on it it shouldn't hurt it....

Well I'm putting them on the list then.

The doors and tailgate handles will get the same treatment too but I'm planning on putting in chrome handles when I do it.

Trying to figure out a good way to paint the mirrors to match but that accordion stuff probably don't hold paint real well.
