The Allison seems to be a little more ballise and they seem to hold up better than the manuals. There are more allisons anyways so they are a little cheaper in the long run. And not many mechanics are trained on the manual behind a Duramax.

No offense Woody But I hate Ford diesels except for the tractors. The Ford trucks break down alot more and they are tighter to work on.

I'd rather have a 5.9L Cummins over a 7.3L Powerstroke. But the Duramax is in my price range and I want it so bad.Plus $18,500 is a decent price for it or 19,000 wouldn't be to bad.

hey ben my uncle has a 98 heavy duty f-350 he bought it new. the only time he ever had to fix it was when a drunk in a tahoe crashed through his barn whwere the truck was parked and basically ripped the crane , genrator , welder and everyhting else he had on his truck off it and screwed up the frame. those 7.3 live forever. now if were talking about 6.0 liters thats a different story but just my thought
