manual vs auto
Well its kinda smart in a way i mean because auto trans vehicles retain their value longer. I didnt know this until i was lookin at two trucks about a month ago.... they were both 2006 Dodge Cummins and they were identical in every single way except the manual had 2000 fewer miles but other than that they were the same color everything except one was a manual and the other an auto and the auto had a higher price on it. I asked my boss and he told me that since autos are whats in demand 90% of the time they can charge more of a premium on them over the manual. Interesting.

No not at all... people are getting lazyer by the year i swear. It also doesnt help in your case that variable vane turbos suck *** period. My buddy has an LLY Duramax and yea teh turbo sounds cool when it spools down adn releases pressure but he cant win a race to save his life. I even tried driving it and i found that the variable vane turbos wont spool as hard as the wastegated ones. I guess that wont matter anymore, he just ordered a new turbo.

ya i been in contact with the guys at elitediesel about a wastegated fixed vane turbo so hopefully that will help because i really like the manual especially when im pulling my 5th wheel. but it just sucks when it comes time to go fast its kind of a hindrance. but it works out good im getting ready to head to colorado for a job and they are located in colorado so i can go check it out.

The variable vane was designed to make boost at lower RPM levels and for better fuel mileage and it does just about niether. Yea that low rev boost on tap is nice but i have rarely needed to have to spool the turbo at low revs. I put the LB7 turbo on my LBZ and it worked way better having a wastegated turbo that spools harder. Wastegated turbos just seem like the way to go.

yep ill agree 100% if we could now just get engineers to stick with whats been tried and trued through out all these years to just stick with it wed be lot better off. but instead they all wanna be the guy that comes up with the NEXT BIG THING. and they usually end up screwing everything up in the process!!!
