Default im buying a new truck

Hi again everyone. Got rid of my 95 6.5 dually shortly after I joined up last time. Got a 08 Chevy gasser since my job changed. Now I'm ready to go back to diesel. I'm either getting a 2013 Chevy/GMC(70% likely)or a 2014 ram 2500(30%) does anybody have any experience with GM's manual trans in their 2500 diesel? If they even offer one? And can someone explain the differences of the motors I'm pretty sure the 2013 is a LML but I don't know the difference between it and say a 2003 like my dad had. I also can't find any info on programmers. It seems most of them stop around 2010-2011. Would one from those years work with a 2013? Sorry for a bunch of questions, and I have plenty more but these are the ones I really want answers to right now. Thanks.

Also want to know what people are getting for fuel mileage. My gasser has a 3 inch lift and 35 inch tires and getting 12-13 highway with a 10.9 average. And I plan on doing a small lift with 33inch tires on the diesel.

I've only seen one duramax with a manual trans. Most of them are auto's.
There is a lot of differences between the 03 and the 13 duramaxes. One is the body style. another is the interior, but the biggest change would have to be the motor. The 03doesn't have a lot of the emissions garbage. And the 13 has the dpf system, egr system, and now it has the def (diesel exhaust fluid) system. Plus it's getting harder finding a delete kit for the new trucks emmisions garbage because of the government.
And there are more stuff out for the 03.

The reason you are having issues finding programers after 2011 is because of the government cracking down on the companies making them.
Hope this helps a little.

Thanks. I was asking more about the engine itself being different across the years. I think the first ones were lb7? I know the new ones are LML and I think I've heard of LLY? Its still a 6.6 duramax and looks the same to me. I knew they went to the DEF but what exactly are the egr and dpf? Thanks again.

I'm looking at about $54,000 for a Chevy Lt. And $43,000 for a ram tradesman. Do these prices sound like they are in a good range? Or does anyone knows a better price or knows where a 2012-2013 is used that I can finance? I'm willing to travel some (ga and surrounding states). And I'll be trading in my 08.

I bought a 2012 GMC Sierra brand new. Scrapped the DPF installed 5" MBRP RACE PIPE a S&B cold air intake H&S RACE programmer loaded the pillar with needed gauges. I get 18 mpg towing. 23 mpg with cruise on @ 75 mph MT. Running in the towing tune. I love the Duramax and have no complaints at all... I paid 48 for my4x4 short box Crew cab RMT edition last year with a leveling kit aftermarket XD Weels running boards and custom RMT interior. You can find a better deal than you are looking at. A custom order Denali is about 54 fully loaded.

Thanks. I looked at the 2014 gas trucks with the new interiors and really liked them. I've decided to hold on to my 08 until the 2015 deisels come out with the new style. Plus I'll be able to make a bigger down payment and get a better deal instead of scrounging for one now.
