Default LOWER HEATER HOSE?????

When you lay down in front of the truck on your back and slide rearward, looking up ,above the metal engine guard is a hose ( 2 to 21/2 inches in diameter) that goes to the water pump and runs down and curves to the passenger side and goes to the radiator (lower radiator hose). On the driver side there is a smaller hose (3/4 inch.) that is molded/formed/connected to the large hose mentioned above. This hose follows the large hose above to the passenger side and goes up and connects to a metal pipe with a metal clamp. Am I safe to assume this is the lower heater hose? Now the question. Can you cut this smaller hose into and install "T" type connector and use this to drain the antifreeze out of the radiator? I made one out of copper 40 years ago for the 71 and it is still in it. The radiator has no drain plug. Also to drain just the radiator will 2 gallons do it and a complete drain will 5 do it. Thanks for your help.

There should be a drain petcock on the passenger sie of the radiator, it should be on the side facing the fan along the ed he.

There is no coolant drain petcock on the LBZ and LMM, Im not sure about the LLY but the recommended technique is to remove the lower rad hose
