Uh oh...the fuel filter
Hi All,
My 2008HD has terrible power loss on hard acceleration. The fuel filter has 0% life left. The truck only has 1400miles on it. I am wondering if: A. the truck sat on the dealers lot for several month...accumulation of water/grime in fuel system, and/or B. the weather here has been cold, can that affect the filter? In any case, seems pretty weak to have to replace the filter only after 1400 miles. My old Ford 250 would go 15000 before I would change it. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks

I am finding that My 08 doesn't seem to like to go as long as my 05. When I hit 40-50 % I change out the filter. Both trucks had power adders. One time when on route home I believe it was -37c (40 is 40 on both scales ) I had conditioner but it still started to gel ,It went from 50% to zero under throttle then said change filter now. It didn't go into full limp but if i hit the throttle hard it would reflash on the DIC, and RPMS would start to fall off. Lucky I only had 20 miles to get to a GM dealer, I had a filter on board but not my kinda fun changing that out on the highway . And some of this fuel nowadays, I always try to fuel up at a busy station, some of these hillbilly stations in the country have fuel that sits for a lot longer..
