Apples and oranges, why compare a stock duramax to a modded cummins? And what do you mean by stand up to it? Ill put my grocery getter up against a stock sticked stock chargered 12v any time for any type of competition.

you would have to catch up to the stock duramax first.

Just look in the Diesel Power Magazine and look for when they have truck pulls. First through Fourth it all CUMMINS I don't see no Duramax in them places, you just can't beat a cummins when pulling a sled. Diesel Power Magazine truck of the year it was a Ford but it had a Cummins in it.

Cant beat a Cummins, from towing, gas milage torque and handling -20 degree cold without being pluged in... they will always start. No the lift pumps well thats what the fuel pressure test is for...

try starting your cummins in -40c without being plugged in, I KNOW I can start my DMAX at that temp, I have personally done it on several occasions, as for towing, mileage and torque, I will match and surpass you on ever single one of those so please take your trolling BS out of this thread

year to year the HP and TQ curves between the Dmax and the cummins are almost identical, the Dmax peaks at 200 or so RPM higher and a few ponies higher too

really it comes down to truck setup, less weight and rolling resistance of IFS and 2 extra gears make a big difference
