Default Kodiak or Topkick?

Gonna get a 06 Kodiak with the Duramax engine. Is there anything I should know? Are they detuned from the 360hp? It will be a tool truck. I am looking for MPG and reliability, not crazy HP, I will be hauling lots of weight. It's a Cab & Chassis with a 18' box on it.

I believe they're detuned to 300hp.

Yeah, it's 300hp 520 tq, 300/605 and 330/620. It looks like there's 2006 and 2007 emissions versions, not sure what that means, but it's from the GM site. Apparently the 8100 is still available with 325/450.

kodiak for sure. the only problem is you need to get a programmer and upgrade your trans. a friend of mine has one and it was really underpowered cause the size of the truck so he bought a programmer and then blew his allison. so he stepped up to the allison 2000 i think
