Default Sounds like you are letting air out of a ballon

I have a question and it might be hard to answer, but i will give it a try. My LBZ is making a weird intermitten sound like you are letting air out of a ballon while you are pulling on the ends of the ballon to make it a high pitch. The sound comes and goesm doesnt matter on the fuel or off. Doesnt matter what speed either? I have an EGR delete plate on the truck and it looks like there is black goo coming out of it. I had the motor smoked to see if the intercooler was leaking and it was not. I have not checked the bolts around the EGR and I am pretty sure that is probably it, but just looking for some input and or direction.

Yeah if you don't have that plate sealed right you'll hear a high pitched squeal coming from the plate so more than likly it's that. Try taking the plate out make sure you have to gasket on the right side of the plate and even try using some high temp copper sealant and that outta do it.

Thanks, it is funny I have had the blocker plate on for about a year and no leaks. Now it is leaking and I tried to tighten it up and it wouldn't move. Should I take it out clean it up and reseal it with the copper sealant? Or do you think that i should just try to reef on it to try to reseal? Thanks for your advice

Had the same problem, Mine was just due to loose bolts, snugged it back up and problem solved, but man what a disconcerting sound!!

Had the same issue. But if it comes back check the up pipe bellows. I had one crack and it did the same thing, high pitch squel.
