Default Diagnostic-Turbo Vain Position Sensor

My check engine is on and the local shop said the Turbo Vain Position Sensor is bad.
Loss of power, an funny puffing sounds coming from under the hood while driving.

Does anyone know if this is going break anything else with this Turbo Vain Position Sensor?

the ECM wont know what the vane position is, then it wont be able to change the boost levels accordingly, you might have lag or loss of power, excess black smoke

replace the sensor, it shouldnt be that hard
