Default EGR problems

2006 LLY.. light came on, dealer said egr valve motor bad and 700 for part.. i think i know answer but when i do my egr delete, will it solve motor being bad problem? so light will stay off..

I dont think the valve motor problem will subside. but hey its worth a shot. i know the EGR delete kit is just a couple plugs and a hose (sinister EGR blocker kit) so yes it may block the EGR system from entering your intake, but i doubt this will help your actual valve.

If the motor is bad, turning the EGR off with EFI Live or another tuner will get rid of the code. You'd still need to block it off afterwards to keep the valve from blowing open under boost. $700 for the motor is robbery.

Ya I just had friend say same thing about efi live. He didn't say anything about delete plate too but I figured I would need one to cover all aspects. I agree 700 is robbery and I darn sure do wanna spend it on that

Yeah 700, forget that. you may be albe to find one for cheaper on line. but even with the code surpressed, i wouldnt put if off. a blocker plate would deffinately be on my list of things to get along with the valve, just to cover your bases. but im deffinately no expert on the EGR system yet. give me a few weeks and i could tell you more.
