Default Turbo Vanes stuck

Someone in one of the posts was talking about the turbo vanes getting stuck if the truck was not operated much. How can you tell if they are stuck and how do you unstick them?

you will notice is in boost and power. sometimes they get stuck shut sometimes open. you fix it by taking the turbo out and cleaning them.

the spool up will be very slow, and peak boost will take a hit too

Default turbo vanes stuck

Thanks guys
I ordered a code reader from one of our sponsers and I will check for codes when it comes in. What I was really hoping is that you would say spray some carb cleaner or WD40 in the intake and all would be OK

If you ever want to see a 'run away' engine, spray carb cleaner in the intake. Then after it shells out a piston through the side of the block, you get a chance to drop in a nice new engine.

i did that on accident once i was lazy and didnt feel like pulling my MAF sensor out to clean it, just sprayed the cleaner in there and there was quite a bit of residue left.... turned the truck on and kaboom
