speedometer problems

Default speedometer problems

im having some issues with my speedometer, if its not working at all itll be regesitering at about 60mph when im going around 20mph and goes up to about 120mph when im going about 55-60mph. all the other gauges work perfectly.

if i bring it to the dealer there gonna charge me 85 bucks just to look at it. any help is greatly appreciated!

It has a bad stepper motor. Very common problem. IIRC there may be an extended warranty on them.

There is a warranty on them up to 70,000 miles Its a common problem. Get ahold of the dealer and they will replace it for free.

If your truck is over 70k, ebay the stepper motor, its like 13 dollars, and takes like a half hour to install.
