Lightbulb Considering This Truck....

This is a picture of the truck I am considering for hauling my trees, etc. The other truck is obviously my current one, I just wanted to test how the "new" one pulled, heance my old one loaded. Anyway, it is an 04.5 LLY truck with the 6-spd Manual((which I like)) , and the only aftermarket mod is a K&N cold air intake similar to the one on the LB7 truck.

Here is my question. Are there any issues that I need to know about ahead of time with the LLY??? As soon as I buy it I will put tunes to it and a South Bend DD cltch like I have in the current truck, but I did notice that the boost tubes are much smaller than in my LB7, by like about an inch!!!
Any and all input will be appreciated.

PS. The truck has 67K and change on it, and I pulled a service record report from the service department, the only MAJOR repairs was a new flywheel at 36,000. But nothing else...

it could over heat if you really use the truck

Well, as soon as I get it it would get pretty mush the same mods that I have on the LB7, before I ever haul with it. But Also some other stuff like the EGR block, etc... and a 5" Turbo Back, etccc
right now it is weak... Compared to Lucille it is SICK!!!
The only thing that would be better is if I can find an LB7 dually similar to it to get, that has not been ragged out...

Have you ever had any problems out of ??? I am planning to haul some pretty heavy loads with it, but I will also upgrade the fire out of it too, before the loads ever start...

I love CC duallies. Learning about the LLY I have found that it is only a matter of time until your LLY will overheat while pulling a load. If you follow the advice in the LLY sections of our forum you'll most likely have a trouble free life out it. Adding that extra radiator and fan kit seems to make all the difference in sitting on the shoulder or making it home.

You'll be able to pull more (legally wise) then what you had so it should hopefully, eventually start to pay for itself.

ya i would just do the V2 mod to it so that with heavy loads you won't have to worry about over heating
