Default Need some help on pulling the trigger on a 04 ecsb lly

Hello im looking at a 2004.5 4x4,lly duramax. It has 193k miles but the owner just replaced all 8 injectors, fuel pressure regulator, shocks, and new tires! its a ecsb and looks to be pretty clean in the pics. I can get it for 12,500 what y'all think?. its the lower end model so it dont have the push button 4x4 or steering wheel controls which isn't a big deal for me thanks again! OR i can buy a 06 lbz LT leather and all the goods for 13k. but it has 215k miles and has towed a goose neck trailer avg 7-8k pounds since day1! and the owner installed a edge evolution since the truck had 1000 miles. I need some advise its all i can think about

Looks like a coin toss to me. The lly might be a safer option but the lbz can get you some nice little upgrades. The transmission may be shot though.

Both prices seem fair... I would probably go with the LBZ though!

If you plan on upgrading your tranny in the long run anyway then so what if the trans is shot.... I would deff go with the lbz for $500 more. Guess it depends on the physical condition of both trucks too. That being said, LLY trucks are under rated in my opinion. All you have to do is change the turbo mouth piece and the motor is just as good. The 6 speed alison would be nice tho.

The LBZ is a better truck. One more speed in the trans, a little more HP, breathes better, runs cooler while towing, and a few other things. These truck, as well as others like it, were intended for hauling and towing. The cost of a trans upgrade would likely be similar to getting the LLY up to the LBZ standards. A Trans Buddy Jr. kit would help for a lesser cost.
