I'm getting a 2003 Duramax from my boss for $500. Has the usual Duramax issues; injector leaks followed by head gasket. So, I'm trying to find a good used motor for it. Also, kinda wondering; are there any fixes for these motors, or do you just replace the injectors and hope for the best?

Pretty decent. Typical GM ripped sheetmetal on the bed, right where the back of the toolbox would be. Need to fix the door handles on the back doors. But a flatbed and a little fluff and buff will do her up right.

Well sounds like a nice work in progress! I did injectors with help from my buddy, we took our time and followed the post that is on here and cleaned everything as we went. We put new parts in if there was any question, took us a whole weekend, and about $2500 but it runs awesome now and gets great mileage ! If I were you I would do your research on here , there's some really good threads, and make that into a nice truck. Heck cheaper than buying new that's for sure! Or eve slightly used!

I'm not gonna juice it up; I drive like an old farmer and try to make stuff last.
