I just tested the truck out

I got the code 0093 and now my dummy light says "change oil".

Injectors, pump or both???

Maybe time to sell or trade in!

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I just checked my oil & it is filthy, however, it is not high, it's right at the top mark. I thought my oil felt a little thin, so I compared it to my GMC in the garage. I compared the oil in my GMC and it was very similar. I don't think I have diesel in my oil at this point, however, it's concerning that my information center gave me a change oil message right before my truck went into limp mode?????

I have no idea?

HELP PLEASE...

drip some of the oil on a napkin or paper towel and see if it develops a lighter ring around it.

change oil is determined by mileage and condition of the engine running, it's not an exact science, but pretty close.. mine comes on right about 10kmi

it also looks like your CP3 is on it's way out, might be the next thing to check

I got the CP3 out today. What a PITA! Now, how the heck do I get teh gear off of the CP3???

I am going to use an impact wrench, but how do I stablize the gear. There is no good place to get a bite on that gear so when I use my impact wrench the darn gear will just turn. I've not yet attempted to remove the nut...kind of had a full day with a house full of sick kids Tomorrow, i'm gonna tackle this CP3 Gear removal and hope to see my new CP3 from the UPS guy

Any help would be and has been greatly appreciated!

I found that my makita impact driver removed the nut just fine. I held it with my hand and a rag. Came off just fine. Once it is loose don't remove it all of the way. Leave it on loosened a few turns. When you pull with a berring puller it will pop off pretty good and having the nut still on will keep it from flying. I did have one that was so tight that I broke a puller. I tryed tapping on it with two hammers simultaneously and with a larger puller. Nothing worked until I got out the oxy-acetaline torch and heated the gear while the puller was putting tension on it. It was fun when that hot gear went flying up in the air when it finaly gave. Most won't be that bad though.

Well, that was easy! I read a few threads where some people had serious problems removing the nut. I screwed a bolt in and then used a pry bar from the nut to the gear. I hit it with the impact gun and it's off! Now to find my gear puller and wait for my new CP3.

Thank you again for your help!

Well, I guss I have to wait till Tuesday to finsih the CP3 install. I was told the vendor who I purchased the unit that the CP3 would be shipped on Monday and be delivered in 2 days. It should have been here on Wed at the latest, turns out there was a mistake &/or lack of communication on his part to me and the CP3 will not be at my house till Monday. NOT HAPPY since I tore my truck down in anticipation that the item would be delivered by Wednesday. If I would have known it was not going to be delivered till Monday, I would have waited to tear into my truck. Now my wife has to drive me to work and from with our 3 kids. I"M NOT HAPPY aobut this!

Yea, I'm just pissed. I would have been fine if I was told Monday next week, I simply would have waited till next week to fix my truck. I understand people make mistakes, but come on, attention to details and a little communication goes a long way in customer service.

It seemed that when I was going up hills, at first, my fuel pressures read Fuel Des - 3055 and my Fuel Act - 2488. Granted, these values did jump around a lot. I had no problems on this first hill when I pulled these values from my stealth 2. Durring Criuse mode at say 68-70mph, these values read Fuel Des - 1800, Fuel Act - 9300, however they also seemed to read really consistant while at 60mph between Des and Act values of 4500-7500psi.
Now, when I hit some larger hills, my F-Des read 1800ish and F-Act - read 9300, yet would bounce around all over the place.
Was that the duty cycle or the Balance rates. If it was the balance rates then they are way out of spec.

bad injectors can make a cp3 look bad too.

but it does sound like a bad cp3
