a drill bit is harder than any pin i would find. it definately wont be shearing. its already in and running. i found a good write up on the whole thing at socal diesel. not pluggin any site but a few people there had exactly identical scenarios. i found it when i did a search for the 5 mil pin that locates the balancer to the shaft.
