Yup....I Did It.
Greetings, Fellas. I bought that 2001 3500 4x4 w/ 51k I asked about last night. My only concern was injector problem. Guess I got over it; largely from support herein.
But, what gives on that injector issue? Is it just a roll of the dice whether yours are the from the "bad bin" or not...?? I assume that there are indeed some the NEVER have injector issues....right?
And, if injectors go bad, what are you looking at in $$$....anybody know....just "ballpark"....?? While I've got the 200K mile beat by a mile, the 7 year limit is gone.
Thank you all, again.

CONGRATS BRYANT!!! Welcome to the diesel club.
Yes it is hit or miss as to whether your injectors will fail or not. On an average you can expect to pay $1000-1500 to get them replaced but if you cross that road there's no sense in going back with stock.

The 7 years is from the original date of purchase so you may not be out quite yet but close. The injectors are just as you said it seems "bad bin" or not.
Just bomb that truck and be happy you got a good deal ,because new injectors ar going to run you about 8k.

Just kidding they are going to run 1,200-2,000 depending on where and what. When you cross that bridge (hopefully you never do) look up one of the fine DB vendors to hook you up.
I spent almost 4 years in Iraq myself so I know the feeling. Welcome to Texas brother.
noproblem is in DFW and I'm in Houston. Maybe you could come up for our get together that is being planned for February.
