Default Question on Injectors and Mods.

Whats up guys. I'm fairly new in the diesel game but am pretty handy when it comes to vehicles. My main concern is injectors. The guy I bought the truck from said the injectors were replaced with the LLY injectors when they had the mass recall I do not know if this is for certain still waiting on the paper work. Is this even possible?

My next question is mods. Right now I'm running straight piped and a edge juice programmer. wanna be able to run it every now and then and smoke out but still keep it as a daily driver. So if you guys wouldn't mind lending a brother some diesel knowledge I'd appreciate it. Also I'll be heading over to Diego Garcia in a few months.

the head, valve cover, and fuel supply/return is different than the lb7 on a lly.

long story short the lly injector isnt a straight swap in.

Skip the wastegate and get the PPE BIV. they're like $29 and give the same results, for alot less money and easier 3 minute install.

As far as tuning you can't go wrong with quadzilla, or ppe. Ppe is usually the favorite by far in choices of handhelds, but is not as good as the mighty EFI live flash and scan. That is what 98% of enthusiast choose when tuning there Duramax diesel. It's what I use

As far as the air flow I would leave the stock box in place, they're good for 500rwhp. I would invest in a diamond eye or mbrp turbo direct pipe, and whatever exhaust system your wanting. I would go with 4" not 5" the 5" will not be any more beneficial than a 4" other than a little bit deeper exhaust note.

I bought a quad stealth 2 today for my 02 and it should be in tomorrow so I'll let you know what I think of that. As far as the edge thats what I am running now and I'm not very immpressed, I also have a single 6" mitre it is ALOT louder than a tailpipe, heres a pic

The best out of the box programmer is a PPE.

I'm going to have to agree. I ran one and it was awesome. Tried just about everything. Ppe fuels up top more so than the quad and will get nasty at higher rpms. But none the less ppe can't touch my efi live tune. As far as productivity, longevity, and lower egts. EFI really is the only way to go.
