Default Black smoke

Ok my truck is an 04. All i have done to it is a straight pipe and edge juice with attitude. Before the edge it smoked like hell and i loved it. Now even with the smoke set on level 5 it hardly sprays it at all. Is there something else i can do for her to blow black again?

your kidding right?

i see no way that it could smoke w/ no tuner not if everything is right, then when you put a tuner on it, the smokes goes away haha,

also can i ask why the interest in so much smoke?

i dont think you understood my post,

something is not right at all w/ what you posted, no way does a stock d-max running correctly blow any more then a very tiny puff at a hard take off or if you lug it down.

so i dont see how your even having a problem

c-power is right a stock d max shouldnt smoke unless there is something wrong with your fuel system, which makes it weird that it makes it smoke less with the chip. the chip should make it dump the smake on stage five, not make less smoke. try un-hooking your chip and see if it smokes like it did before, if it does there is something wrong with your timing or fuel system that your chip is changing and fixing. are you seeing a power improvement with the chip? you should see a huge difference on stage five.

i agree...that seems to be true with most diesels...some smoke more than others stock but less with a tuner???? that seems very strange. if you are having fuel problems you would notice and more times than not the smoke would decrease with a fuel problem bc of lack of fuel...too much fuel equals more smoke.

i have huge power gains with the chip...just less smoke. I just had all 8 injectors replaced last week and still very little smoke. But the truck runs great now.

you might not be getting enough fuel pressure or draining the rail ....

no smoke with more power is a good thing ..... low rail pressure is not ...

What are some signs of low rail pressure?
