the rear end should have the Eaton g-80 locker, some trucks may not have come with it, pull the pan and check it out, if theres no locker it will just be spider gears and ring and pinion, if its the locker there will be a complex locking unit inside the carrier

The locker does have spider gears, but it also has a dog that swings to lock the spider gears, that is why it is so positive and tends to wear out tires.

The limited slip does wear out really quick.
Thats the main resaon I kicked it out. Replacing it with a 100% manual locker is almost the same work as replacing the clutch parts in the limited.

I love the manual locker, because the automatic can give you real nice surprizes with white knuckels on wet roads.
