Engine Cuts Out At Higher RPM
i have a 2002 chev with a six speed manual transmission when i am getting into it in fifth gear it starts to cut out about 500 rpm before it gets to the revlimiter but in all the other gears it doesnt do it. it almost feels like its running out of fuel it surges and wont go any faster until i shift a gear. i had a similiar problem earlier but it was at around 2000 rpm in all the gears, that ended up being a plugged fuel filter. that was about 7 months ago. also would i be able to notice if i have a bad injector? it just doesnt feel like it has the power it used to, and it doesnt smoke unless i have my chip turned up which would be my first sign of a bad injector.

well if it was in 5th gear like your said in your original post, 2700rpms in 5th gear would give you ~94 mph which is around the fuel cut off speed and it wont go any faster if your truck is stock
thats where your surging feeling comes from cause when it hits the speed limiter the fuel will cut off and when the speed drops down it will fuel again causing your truck to jerk around.
