Default Need Some Help

so the other day my neighbor mentions his cel is on again. his truck 02 dmax 51xxx on the clock. has 4" turbo back system, aem cold air intake and edge juice with attitude. the truck has been throwing p0380 off and on. It does it when it's cold or hot. so is this still covered under warranty? the truck also had p1093 this was the first time for this one. if he does take it in should I totally remove the edge system or can I leave the overhead unit in place and just unhook it so they can scan and if they have updates update the computer? I would have him get on here but he can't type very well and I do a lot of the work on his truck

I think if hes worried about his warranty.. the Turbo back exhaust voids that anyways.. If it was me, Id leave the heads up display there, and just return it to stock and unplug it.. if they ask about it, its just a monitoring unit to monitor EGT's and boost.. thats what I'd do, but Im by far a Diesel expert..

Depending on the dealer they may not care about the mods. The injectors have a 200,000 mile warranty but the other things are 3-36,000 IIRC.

I would not worry about the exhaust, they are not stupid when the see the display they know what is going on so he may want to leave it in there and play the honest card.

I agree with Danny on checking the FF.

P1093 low fuel rail pressure.

P0380 is glow plug related most likely.

he has the filters on done regularly he doesn't drive a whole lot but is going in for a new one soon. he may have put 12k on it in last year and sure the fuel filter was done less than that. I know I need to unplug the edge incase they reflash the computer as it can damage it. but I will leave the monitor in. I know a guy in parts at the local dealer so shouldn't be a problem
