Default Building UP!

i just bought a 2001 duramax 3500 2 wheel drive its straight piped but idk where to start building up the engine should i get a tuner, egr delete, or a cold air intake first? and i know this sounds stupid but do they make dpf deletes for my truck? i want the truck to dump some smoke and run like a bad m'fer. i just want an idea of where to start and some of the brands yall have had the best encounter with. anything will help me and want to learn as much as i can so any input will be greatly appreciated!

first off, how much hp are you looking at pushing and second how much are you willing to spend?

For starters, I would get a 4" exhaust, at least a downpipe back if not a turbo back exhaust. A set of gauges and efi live.

if you want to push the hp more then about 60ish above stock then start looking at a built transmission soon.

Around 500hp you are going to need a lift pump. Above that you are going to start looking a modded cp3, turbo upgrades, and some internal parts. This is just a small list of minimum items and may require more.

Also your truck should not have a dpf
