ANY IDEAS ON WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS..RUNS GREAT AFTER THE ETHER SHOT BUT DON'T WANT TO CONTINUE THIS..IS THERE A FUSE OR A FUSEABLE LINK THAT COULD B BLOWN?

Ask in the Duramax Lb7 forum. You wont get nobody that would know the answer to that in the website discussions.

Could be lots of things, cp3 bad glow plugs, glow plug relay, connector bar for gp, and possibly bad new injectors plus the common fuel issues

Don't start an engine on starting fluid... BAD idea....

What mods do you have? Have you primed it?

Im having the same problem, replaced the injectors and cp3 pump. if the truck sits for a bit it looses prime and i would hit the primer a few times it would be fine. now it will run for a few mins and die. I was also wondering what the problem could be? I also did the rebuild kit for the filter housing still loosing prime

so after more hair pulling thought it might be a bad cdu. i do have power in but nothing at the injectors.is it possible to read the voltage at the injector? if the cdu went bad would it show up as the original problem of one injector going bad? and what would be the best way of checking this out.

Yours could be a cracked filter housing, its a common problem. Usually you can't see the crack at all
