Default Need adive...boost gauge install and wiring?

Hey Guys,
Usually only stay on the powerstroke side of the site, but my good friend finally sold his old 6.5 and got an '01 duramax (single cab, long bed, 4x4, clean looking truck)
Anyway...he's getting efi live so we need to do gauges. After it taking me literally hours to finally get the hole tapped in the drivers side manifold (that's where I've done it on powerstrokes...was I wrong here?) for the pyro, it was 3 in the morning and we had both been up all night from the night before....so we called it quits. But I simply don't know where to tap in to the system for the power to the gauges. I've always had friends do the wiring part, but they have left town. Any help I would appreciate so much.
Also, I read somewhere that you have to take the intake off and drill and tap it for a boost gauge? He has a ppe boost valve, could you not just t the line and run it from there?
Any input I would appreciate greatly. Thank you.
Cole.

the passenger side would of been a hell of alot easier to drill and tap. everyone does that side on the duramaxes

and the boost gauge you can just install a brass tee before the boost increase valve and have your boost tap right there.

or you can get a cummins oil pan plug drill a hole in the center of it and thread it then replace the intake air heater with the plug and install the air pressure tap there. the power wire for the intake air heater you can just tape up and tuck it away.

getting power for it you can just tap the power for the lights from the dimmer rheostat for the gauge cluster, if i remember correctly it was the green wire. and for the power just about any pink wire will do the trick or you can use a relay hooked up to one of the pink wires and get your power from the under hood junction box like how i did it.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.
So, if possible, I need to hook a relay to a pink wire, and get power from under the hood? What does the relay on the pink wire do exactly? Thanks.

the pink wires get hot when the key is on. so u can use that for a signal wire to energize the relay

Oh okay I get what you are saying, thanks!

Thanks for the help, gauges were a success!
The pink and green wires were spot on, the lights on the gauges only come on when the parking/headlights are on and they dim with the dash!
Thanks again, I appreciate it!
