1994 chevy 6.5 turbo stalls, wont start, or runs rough
my rig today started stalling out. at first it was when i was coming to stop signs, and as soon as i hit my brakes it would die. then it would fire right back up, its done that before. then it started running rough, sputtering, cutting out. but idles nice. now it will sometimes start, run perfect, and just die no matter what. now wont start. i let it sit for a hour or two and fires up and starts all over..
any suggestions?
1994 so it has the electric pump thing
also, i dont believe im getting boost, can never hear the turbo(did this before it ran bad) and in the intake between the engine and the air filter has a buildup of oily dirty shat.
thanks!
has good fuel, new glow plugs a few months ago, as well as glow plug relays

The CPS in my truck had the same symptoms as you decribe,my CPS fell apart upon removal leaving about 3/4s of it in the engine block I had to drill about a 1/4 hole then using lag bolts in increasing sizes from a local hardware store along with a ball joint seperator/pickle fork for leverage to remove mine, and do not buy a BWD CPS repeat do not buy a BWD CPS get a AC Delco CPSor you will regret it when you have to go back to the parts store to get a AC Delco CPS,as you have probally guessed I have made this mistake and just wanted to pass friendly the advice along to you.

what about the pcm? could that be bad? and my buddy has a 94 chev 6.5 with relocated aftermarket pcm in the front bumper, could i unhook his and try it in my rig to see if that may be the problem?
im going to try to get a scanner to check the codes tonight also
thanks

if i was to replace the pmd, is it as simple as remounting a new one, and plugging it in to the extended harness and be on my way?

update, putting a cps in tomorrow, whether its the problem or not its pretty cheap. after i get it in, do i need to disconnect batteries or anything like that?
any help would be appreciated
thanks!

i threw the cps in it. runs mint now and idles constant 700, never stalls now, but sometimes it sputters and falls on its face, then clears out and drives fine. ses light is on 100% of the time now.. i need to check the codes. the batteries were disconnected and after a few starts it ran great with the new cps
