Great thread! I'm having exactly the same problem with my 93...Replaced both batteries (only 4 yr old 1000 amp), cleaned all the terminals wire ends, just ordered a new starter and to think it could be a grounding issue between the starter and block! Wouldn't have thought of it. Thanks for following through and posting what you discovered. Even though I've thrown $300 at it, I'll be happy if that is all it was...

Default Thank you

I have been having a lot of starting issues with my truck. About every year I have to change the starter. I have a reman with a lifetime warrenty so the cost int great but the blood sweat and tears gets annoying. But I have been lately having cold start issues. I saw this post and the resolution about the ground wire directly to the start. And because alot of my issues are the same. I am hoping it works for me. By the way I have an 85 K20 suburban with the 6.2

ground play havoc on these rucks and "looks clean" don't cut it. Take it apart and clean it.
