1995 6.5 t.d. no upshift
You had the same codes get thrown and all?
Did your speedometer still work?
Did disconnecting your battery do nothing to give your shift back even for a minute or two?
Fixed, yep three years later. Broken wire on the wires going into the transmission connector. Pink wire that provides 12 volts to the tranny. It was broken in the insulation about 5 inches up from the connector. No rub mark or cut I the insulation. Found it by tugging on the pink wire an inch at a time till it broke in my finger tips. Spliced it together and now we are up and running.
i have just fixed my 1995 Chevy ton 6.5 diesel with the trans not up shifting. The problem in my truck was a loose ground wire on a tail light. I reconnected the ground wire with a connector and my truck shifts fine again.
My brother had a 1994 Chevy truck that also would not shift up and it was fixed by a new fuse for the tail lights.
The electrical system is the first place to start troubleshooting. Check fuses and lights first. I would check voltages at the trans next.
