Default low voltage issue fixed.

Just had a drop in voltage from running at 14 to 9volts running.
Not good I think, and suspect an alternator gone south.
The left battery is new, less than a year old, it should be good but the right one is aincient, so I grab a volt meter and take a check under the hood just in case the guage on the dash is at fault.
Running I get 9 volts on the left side bty, and 12 on the right side bty.?
Start it up and the same readings. Seems strange that 2 battrys that are wired together give diferent readings, so I disconect the left one and take a reading of 9Volts, 12 on the right side. I don't want to buy and install an alternator, and the readings are telling me look farther. I took the jumpers and hooked up the camper battery to the left terminals, presto,14 volts, and all is well. Tomorow a new battry under warranty and not an alternator out of pocket. It pays to look deeper than the obvious. It's probably good for the camper bty to get used a bit in winter for a day too.
