Default Broken fuel guage

For a few years the fuel gauge on my 95 Tahoe has been broken. Does anybody have thoughts on how to go about fixing it?

check the wire at the tank and the ground back there

Ok where would the wiring and ground be on the tank?

yes on the sending unit
one test do is take the wire from sending unit ground it out turn the key on see if it goes to full if it does then sending unit
does gauge work at all

How difficult is it to drop the fuel tank?

not hard just run the as low as you can make easyer just 2 straps that hole tank then you have the main and return lines and full hose take off and sending unit wire

Ok I'll have to try that. Are new sending units expensive?
