Default 6.2 turbo:jump:

Ive been lurking here for awhile figured id see what you all think of this. my old suburban has rotted to the point of no return, ive been looking all over and can find only a few diesel subs. One I looked at was a banks turbo,190,+ on it its ok shape body wise seems to run good. What should i watch out for with the turboed one?
What do you think of the mileage its a bit higher than i wanted but my price range is limited to $2000.And finding a good diesel sub not rotted in ohio is hard .

Thanks
David

Shaft play, oil leaking into the exhaust (turbine side) or intake (compressor side), waste gate function, turbo make boost like it's suppose to w/o leaks.

Are the turbos for these very expensive when i looked at it the right side of the intake had old oil on it so did the box that bolts on the top of the intake.Im assuming that is a bad sigh.
Im thinking i should maybe keep looking.

It's a Banks setup. Not sure on the cost though.

Take it out for a test drive, see how it runs. If it seems there isn't much power and a lot of black smoke, be weary of it.

Turbos are good for a lot of hours/miles, as long as they're taken care of. Cooled down after moderate to severe duty usage.

6.2's as you know are oil leakers, even from the get go.
