what?... it cant work on vaccume if its under pressure!
lets say your wasegate is set at 15psi until your intake manifold reaches 16psi the gate stayes closed. vaccum has NOTHING to do with a wastegate. by -unplugging- it you eccentially delete your wastegate and drive pressures will be higher because the wastegate -hole in the turbo- wont ever open to let excess pressures out thus making your boost numbers go up. a boost regulator would be a better chose because you could fine tune your wastegate. trick it to boost to 20 before it released excess pressures. hope that helps

It has a vacuum pump on the front of the engine and uses a waste gate solenoid on the driver side of the engine to hold it shut until it reaches a certain amount of boost. The best thing you can do is get rid of it all together and go with a spring controlled wastegate.

You are in chevy 6.5 world now everything is backwards. They don't open the wastegate with vacuum they hold it shut. The turbos on these things are lucky to reach 15psi. Factory is only 8psi and if you get past 20psi you better be carrying spare parts with you.

vacuum question
ok I am new here. Previous diesel 6.2 cucv m1009 sold it and now own a 6.5td 2500 chevy
here is the question I have after replacing the vacuum pump I still had no boost so I bypassed the waste gate selinoid and ran the vacuum straight to the waste gate controler. now I have boost but I think way too much. I am getting around 7lb of boost cruising at 65 ish and if i step on it it will hit 15 which i know is bad!
help new to the turbo and what numbers do i want to stay with in
