Default 6.2 pump/injectors questions

Hi! I have a 6.2 from a 1983 van that is now in a 94 Silverado. I had the van for about 15 years and the engine ran fantastic. The trans went out on it some years back and I never fixed it (The rest of the van wasn't very nice- a/c problems etc). It sat until recently, but I started it every once in a while. The first 6.2 that I swapped into the 94 in place of a bad 6.5 finally pretty much wore out, and we swapped the van engine into the p/u. It never seemed to run very good afterwards, almost no power mainly. Last month I added an aux tank for WMO, filled it with about 50/50 and took of on a trip. Went about 350 miles and had transmission troubles (700R4) Turned around and limped back home at about 50mph and 3000 rpm. Fianlly got it out of the tranny shop and driving it around town it runs terrible-- kinda rough and no power. Backing up here, I filled the aux tank up with straight Diesel before coming back home with the tranny problem so it now has about 25%WMO. Tried some BG cleaner that was recommended and given to me by a mechanic friend. I ordered a tool to remove the injectors but haven't gotten it yet. Last night I listened to it idling and the pump was making a loud rattling noise almost identical to the way my 5.7 Olds , which was diagnosed as a bad flex ring, sounds. So I am assuming that is my problem here. I have a pump that I picked up from PickNPull last winter. It came off a 6.2 Suburaban that had a head off the engine. It was cheap, and of course no idea of condition. Should I try the used pump first and see what happens? I have been running 6.2 vehicles for about 25 years and never had the least pump trouble.I really can't blame the WMO, since it didn't seem to be runing right before, and it has only been about 900 miles with it. FWIW, I have a centrifuge and have filtered and centrifuged the crap out of the WMO, and only used about 50/50. More questions: I called one reputable Diesel place, a Stanadyne distributor, here and was told that the vans had different injectors, which I had heard before, and also the pumps were set up different etc. I can't imagine there being all that much difference to drastically affect a nearly 30 year old engine. Just wanting some advice from the 6.2 gurus here. Also, if a rebuilt pump is needed, who to use and who to avoid. Any info/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Larry

Waste motor oil was never meant to run in any engine. Try running a couple tanks of straight diesel w/ Seafoam. The Seafoam will help burn off all the gunk left behind from the WMO.
